The Federal Communications Commission approved the change recently, allowing WKBK to broadcast on the FM translator. The FCC found the public interest would be served well by allowing for this rebroadcast of the WKBK-AM programming on the FM dial.
WKBK provides stimulating talk all day long with Dan Mitchell in the Morning, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Howie Carr and Bill O’Reilly. WKBK has local news, National news from CBS 24 hours a day, and Red Sox baseball.
"Putting on WKBK- FM 104.1 will make it easier for people to get up-to-date on the news of the day and listen to talk radio. We know it’s difficult to get an AM signal sometimes in those downtown office buildings and sometimes in some homes, this should make it easier for people to listen to the great programming on WKBK," says Monadnock Radio Group General Manager Bob Cox. "Folks now have a choice of how they want to listen to our talk and music stations."
In addition to adding WKBK to the FM dial, AM 1220 WZBK will also have an FM signal at 103.1. Now their format of playing Memorable Hits from the Worlds Greatest Artists can be listened to three ways, Am 1220, FM 103.1 and HD 1220.
Keene will now have increased access to local news, talk, sports and Red Sox baseball on a new FM radio station in the Elm City. AM 1290 WKBK can now be heard on the FM dial at 104.1
